US air travel disruptions may last a week after shutdown ends

Airline disruptions across the U.S. continue even after the end of the government shutdown, with more than 1,000 flights cancelled and some 2,478 delayed in one day; the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) says it may take up to a week for air travel to fully normalise, despite freezing the planned increase in flight reductions at major airports.
